Catch up on the first 3 months with baby E!

Emmitt Jeffrey is THREE MONTHS OLD!  What?!?!?!

At 3 months Emmitt already has the greatest personality!  Nothing compares to his little facial expressions!  Whether it be big eyes, raised eyebrows, smiling ear to ear, or that infamous sad face, he is always showing emotion.  :)

 Merry Xmas!!

You want me to put that where??

 Talking to him.

 Whistling.

This sad face started out very randomly, but now he is doing it when he is tired, hungry, or "scared"... please everyone, do WHATEVER this child wants!!!!!!

He rolled over for the first time at 11 weeks !  Jeff started doing "excited screaming" from the back and I ran back there to see what the fuss was.  He told me (through giggles and smiles) he rolled over!  So we rolled him back over, and he did it again for me! Then I ran out to get my phone to tape him and got Aiden and he did it again!! So cute :)

Another first:  Bath time at home!
Oh don't let the "happy family" picture fool you.  See below...

He did not enjoy it.  At all.  Lucky for us every bath after this one.. so far.. he has LOVED!  :)

 Moments to remember..
I love this picture.  Especially the fact that Aiden is in his underwear.

Every single picture I have of Aiden holding Emmitt is precious to me.

Loving us some outdoor time before winter sets in!

 How can you not smile!?!?!

 And smile.

 And smile.

"Hey everyone!  Look at me!  Pay attention to me!  Look what I'm doing!  I'm pulling the stuffing out of a pillow and throwing it all over the living room!"

 Bonding time :)

Aiden has mastered the art of watching Curious George and holding his baby brother.  Awesome.

 Love.

Ahahah.

"Hey everyone!  Pay attention to me! Look at what I did!  I drew on the couch with a pen!" says Aiden.

Don't let him fool you, tummy time is not a fun time for this little guy.  He just gets mad, starts grunting,  squirms like crazy, tries to get up and walk away, then lays his head down in defeat and starts crying. Good thing he started rolling over!

Month By Month At A Glance

One month

At one month Emmitt started to smile!  And of course from then on we worked like mad to get one out of him ;)  He loved to hold his head up and move it around like crazy, we had to hold on to him pretty carefully so he didnt fling himself out of our arms.. still do! He was still eating every 2 1/2 or 3 hours and just not the happiest camper :( Quite frequently he seemed to be miserable, working on a poop or spitting up, or hiccuping.  And he had trouble breathing at night, which as you can imagine, freaked mommy out!! (And was no fun because mommy was getting about an hour to 2 hours of sleep a night...ahhh!) We finally took him into the doctor and they prescribed Zantac to help with his acid reflux. Hallelujah it helped and we started to see changes at about 6 weeks!

At his 2 week appointment he was 7 lbs 14 oz which put him at the 25th percentile, and 20 1/2 inches long which was the 50th percentile.  Of course, we were asking, "Is he okay?  Is he too small"  What's wrong?" because Aiden was pretty much off the charts for weight until he was 2.  Don't worry, they assured us he was fine :)

Likes:  Mommy and Daddy's voices, his changing table, music, and his carseat.
Dislikes:  Changing clothes, gas.... sleeping.....

Two Months
Emmitt's 2 month appointment went really well!  He was bored by it all, as you can see in the picture.

He weighed in at 12 lbs 6 ounces and 23 inches, which put him at the 50th percentile. Once again we were like, "Is he okay?  Why is he still ON the charts?  I dont get it."  But again, they assured us he was fine :)

At 2 months Emmitt started to sleep much better, going about 3 1/2 to 4 hour chunks at night. He wasn't spitting up nearly as much and wasn't so uncomfortable so he was beginning to show his true colors... happy :) He did get his first nasty cold though, and that was no fun.. mainly for mommy and daddy.  He started to "coo" and "gaa" a lot more this month and he loved to show off that adorable smile more and more.  Some of his favorite things to smile at:  The doors, the bins under his changing table, and his monkey.  His family too I guess :)

Likes: Changing table, loud sounds (hair dryer, vacuum, running water), his monkey, laying on the floor with mommy, baths
Dislikes: Changing clothes, hiccuping

Three Months
This has been a big month for our little superhero! Not only did he start sleeping in his crib, he has started to get up only once a night, usually around 2-3, after going to bed at 8.  And occasionally he will wait until about 5 to get up!  What?!?!?!  He rolled over for the first time, found his hands, is trying to grab onto things, especially faces, and he is "talking" up a storm.  He will let Aiden get in his face and "hug" him, he doesn't mind when Lilly barks her head off, and he just hangs out in his bouncer if mommy is in need of a shower or a meal. He is such a good boy :)  However he does let us know (with a loud yell) if he wants our attention or if we have been in his face too long.  Its pretty funny.

Likes: Being talked to, laying on the floor, changing table, being able to see the room, looking at books, really just about anything except the things listed below..... :)
Dislikes: Changing clothes, hiccups, being held facing in, being caught off guard by something loud or different

I can't believe it's already been 3 months and I can't believe it's only been 3 months :)  We love our two boys so much!  I have really enjoyed my time off and am going to soak up these last two weeks at home!
