Winter Winter Winter... and more Winter

With this incredibly long winter, we have had to keep busy and keep things interesting!

Oil, water, food coloring...

This is what it was supposed to look like.

Fail...

27,000 feet of snow means LOTS of playing outside.. (when it wasn't 27,000 degress below zero..)

This started as a fort, but after getting a TON more snow it ended up a tunnel!

Aiden was making "volcanos" all around our yard.  hehe

Like I said.. keeping things interesting...
Eating pizza with his spiderman outfit on... at 6:20 AM.
Best part about this.  We came out into the kitchen to find this happening.

Aiden watched a video that involved guys dancing to the Justin Beiber song, Bigger Better Stronger Power. After taking it all in he decided he needed to do the same as them.. so he went and got his tennis shoes on, his sunglasses, and his hat (backwards) and attempted to dance like them.  It. was. awesome.

 Singing.  Lots of singing.

More pizza.  For breakfast. Oh, don't forget about the sesame sticks.
He doesn't get to pick his breakfast much anymore....

Warning: The next 2 pictures involve poop, toilet paper, Lilly eating poop, nakedness, poop.

Let me tell you this wonderful story: I was peacefully nursing Emmitt in the living room and heard Aiden yelling that he had a "bathroom problem".  So, still nursing Emmitt, I went back to see what this bathroom problem was.  ( I grabbed my phone because I just had a feeling I may want to take a picture...) You can see in the first picture what I saw.  The only things missing are the blobs of poop on the floor.. that Lilly is in the process of eating.  And you can't see the poop smeared all over Aiden's bum, legs, and toilet paper either.

After Aiden told me he tried to wipe his bum and clean up the poop in the bathroom and his room(still not quite sure how it got all over his bedroom) with toilet paper, I proceeded to his bedroom, phone in hand, and yes, still nursing E.  The second picture shows what I saw.  Once again, Lilly eating poop.  And yes, poop all over that toilet paper laying on the floor.

I won't bore you with the cleaning up details, but lets just say this was one of those nights mommy needed an early bedtime....

Fun events!
We took the boys to a Linn Mar boys basketball game.  First thing he says when we sit down... "Mom, thats where we live, Iowa!!"  :) That kid.

Happy Valentines Day!  Aiden's cookie turned out just great!  Not too many sprinkles at all...

Church: Sunday church time is so much fun for the boys.  Aiden LOVES Sunday School and his teachers and Emmitt LOVES to listen to the music in church :)

We went to our churchs' black light puppet show.  It was AMAZING!  Aiden absolutely loved it.  There were huge puppets, good music, dancing, and the black lights made it all so awesome.. pictures don't do it justice!

Aiden hasn't gotten to use his umbrella since like August of last year because its been snowing since then.. so he asked to take it into his bath one night.    Lots of "Singing in the Rain" singing :)
Emmitt could spend hours just watching Aiden.. especially in the bathroom. :)

 Running...

Some Firsts

Putting his foot in his mouth

This is HUGE for us because Aiden could never get his foot up that far over his belly, hehe.  When his feet are out.. they are in his hand or mouth!

Rolling over

E started rolling over front to back around 11 weeks.  He doesn't do it that often, but when he does he still gets that "What just happened?!" look :)  He is SO CLOSE to going from back to front.  He did it once for mommy but his little arm was stuck under his belly so he just rolled back over. Ha.

 Standing with support

Emmitt started doing this around 5 months.  He prefers standing over anything else.  He even pushes on your belly or side if you are holding him so he can "stand" on you!  He likes to hold on to the ottoman or his changing table and stand up like a big boy!  Just a couple days ago he started to take "steps" while we hold his arms.   Oh boy....

Cereal

We started giving Emmitt cereal at 5 months. He really enjoyed it!!  We actually can't keep it coming fast enough!

 Holding the bottle

He loves to hold his own bottle now :)

 Writing his name

One day I asked Aiden to "sign" his name... and he totally did!!!  ?!?!?!?! This kid amazes me every day.

 Double digits

We were in a parking lot and Aiden randomly said, "Mom there's 21."  I didn't know what he was talking about until I noticed this sign.  Yes, its actually 12, but still!!!  Wowza!
