2 YEARS!

What?!  How did that happen?  I blinked and he went from a little bity baby to a little boy who says "NO!" and jumps off things.  That being said.. he is still our baby.  He cuddles, he likes to be held, and he still loves his binkie :)

He is getting a bit bigger in Aiden's lap now!!!

Things Emmitt is doing and saying:
*He mimicks Aiden all. the. time. It's quite comical to see.  Aiden eats it up, of course :)
*He is a talking machine.  Sentences, questions, exclamations.. hes got it down!
*He can say his ABC's up to G.  Not too motivated to learn them(read: doesn't care AT ALL) like Aiden was.. he has better things to do, like follow Aiden around :)
*He can get out of his crib on his own, but has only done it a few times, phew!
Anything Aiden does, I do too!!!

Things Emmitt loves to do:
*Playing outside is an all-time favorite thing to do.  Swinging, sandbox, going for walks, and playing at the park are some big ones.
*He has been enjoying coloring and playing with play-doh a bit more recently, which is new to us since Aiden never has enjoyed those things!
*Play on the Ipad.
*Play in the water, especially at the pool.
*Eat food.
*Whatever Aiden is doing.

Things Emmitt loves:
*His binkie.
*Stuffed animals. "I snuggle."
*Animals, especially baby animals. "So sweet!"
*Babies. "So cute!"
*Ipads and Iphones.
*Playing with (and sitting on) Lilly.
*Aiden.  Whatever Aiden loves.

18 months is awesome

Emmitt is at the year and a half mark and it. is. awesome.  He is repeating EVERYTHING we say and communicating with us so much more. He is starting to work on putting short sentences together like "my turn now" (a favorite when talking to Aiden..).  He sings "ABCDEFG" for his abc's and loves to sing himself to sleep in his crib and hum after he wakes up and is just chillin in his crib.  Its the cutest!  Music in general is definitely a "passion" of his, just like his big brother.  We have many a dance parties throughout our weeks :)

He loves other kids, babies and older kids!  And he loves animals.. especially kitties :) He is happy, smiling, giggling almost all the time.  Seriously.  Unless we have been outside and have to come back in.. then he is mad.  ;)  He could just explore outside all day long.  He loves to read books and play with Aidens toys, especially his cars and trucks.  He also has really taken a liking to jumping on the trampoline!

He plays with Aiden a lot more and tries to do everything he does.. couple examples:
1.  When is has to poop he says, "Poopy, potty!" and wants to sit on the toilet. We let him but I have already decided I am NOT potty training him.  Ive hear the second one kind of just does it on their own sometimes.. thats what Im hoping for E.

2.  He climbs things.  High things.  Dangerous things.

He is just over 24 pounds.  50th percentile in weight and height.  Ever since he got his tubes he has stayed a bit more healthy.  One ear infection a month after they went in at the end of December, but none since then.  He has the flu right now.  Its awful.  He just throws up everywhere, refuses to use the bucket.  Aiden had it 12 hours ago and threw up 8 times in about 3 hours.. we are on number 7 and hour three with E so hopefully he is about done!!  It just breaks your heart as a parent to see your little babies sick :(

Don't leave this age baby boy..

December Festivities

December: Tis the season

We had a wonderful month full of family, fun events, firsts, and lots and lots of love :)

And maybe a few tantrums, sleepless nights, and power struggles..

First things first.. decorating the tree!
Aiden decorated most of the tree this year. .. therefore a majority of the ornaments were on the bottom 1/4th of the tree in one spot.  And it was perfect :)

 Our own little Linus :)

There 2014 ornaments. :)

Next up:  Let's see Santa!  At a firestation, of course.
E just stared.  Aiden had to be bribed to sit on his lap.  Went well.

And then... drum roll please.. Aiden's preschool program and Sunday School program!  He did SO good!  We loved hearing him singing his songs at home and seeing him up there with his classmates performing!

This is how he entered.. and exited.  Love him.

And now: Trying to get a family picture where we are all looking at the camera and smiling.

Fail.

But these are some of faves regardless :)

And to finish up the holiday season: XMAS time at both grandparents and at home!!
We are so blessed that we get to have family time with everyone during the holidays. The boys are lucky little boys to have all that love surrounding them.  We enjoyed opening presents, playing with new toys (or in Aiden's case dressing up in new clothes), and eating yummy food. Here are a few snapshots of our good times!

Cowboy boots and overalls... say whatttt!?!?!?!

Aunt Ashley and Mommy are bad influences sometimes :)

He asked for an accordian. Ask and you shall receive! ;)

They both got camo pants and Aiden put on Emmitts by accident.  Haha

 HA!

Merry Christmas to all from Aiden's one-armed Santa!

Other December happenings.

 Aiden does mommy's hair.

 Lilly snuggles with a blanket.

Aiden's obsession with permanent "work" markers continues.

My boys continue to be adorably cute.

Aiden's drama side is full steam ahead.

It snows a tiny bit and the boys love it.

Mommy tries to make up for not making/decorating xmas cookies by making homeade playdoh.
Not sure what E is doing here...

Snuggles at the finest.

Never a dull moment in our house!

Bragging mommy... begin now.

Our smart little 4 year old :)  He loves to add with his fingers.  Usually he gets it right, which is why this video is so funny :)

He has been saying his ABC's since before he was 2 and counting since he was 18 months, so this is nothing new.  But I love that he is taping himself. in these :)

We did it!!!!

Merry Christmas everyone, Happy Birthday Jesus, and smiles all around!
