Sunshine, Water & Parks Oh My!

Summers in Iowa.  Summers in Iowa with 2 little boys.  Summers in Iowa with 2 little boys and a mommy who is a teacher and gets to be home.  Heaven.

Outside. Outside. Outside.  Our motto for the summer.. unless it was rainy :)

The joy in this picture is so real. This picture sums up our summer.. smiles, laughter, sand, sun, outdoors.. together.

Being outside at home meant a few things:  Powerwheels. Swingset. Yardwork. Chalk. Pool.  And, of course.. being naked.
(I dont know what they were all 3 looking at.  Haha)

Dancing! And wondering about his hand...

 That's my Aiden.

Taking care of his tomato plant.  It started out in a tiny little 1 dollar pot on Easter.  It's huge and has several tomatoes on it now!

 Yes.  We have 3.

Aiden drew himself.  Can you see it?  Big circle on top: head.  2 lines coming out of the circle: legs. 2 big circles inside the big circle: eyes.

Fun fact about myself:  One of my most favorite things.. when little kids first start drawing people.

You better believe after Aiden drew his first head and legs person I was asking him every 5 minutes to draw another one! ha!

Hard at work again.  Aiden takes his work outside VERY seriously!

Boy I love these two little people.  So. Much.

 Hahahhaha

 Ahhh, summer.

 Splashing around with buddies :)

 Water balloons!

Sprinkler at Grammy and Papa's house :)

 Meet worm A, B, C, and D.  Aiden's buddies.

This was such a big part of our summer I had to put at least one picture up. I found him peeing outside in every place you can think of.  Is it bad that I never really reacted (except for the time he announced as he was peeing off the deck that he was filling up the wheelbarrow)?

Since we all went a little stir crazy just staying at home all day, we ventured out quite often.  Here are some moments of time outside of the Lam walls.

Let's begin shall we we with Emmitt's first trip to a splash pad. Cue Aiden dumping water over his head. ..

We made many-a-stops at the train in downtown Marion.

Running/crawling around in CJ.

Friends are the greatest.  The swing on tire swings with you until you almost puke.

Noelridge to see the geese! Aiden is helping them cross the road as you can see.

Bike rides.  I love the succession of these pictures.  They tell the story.

There is a park in Marion that we love because there is a GIANT sandbox and literally nobody is ever there.  Emmitt has to be in the right mood for the sand.  He does love to stand up next to the play equipment in the sandbox and bang on it loudly though :)
(He is waving at the clouds.  Seriously. )

(When asked what he was doing he replied, "I'm just so tired from working so hard.  I need to rest.")

(Trying to take a pic with all 3 of us in it.  Aiden threw sand at just the right moment. HA)

Morning walks.. I will miss these 7:30 walks with the boys and Lills.  Such a peaceful time. (Seriously.. Im actually not being sarcastic about that.)

This is why I call Aiden the most "coordinated, uncoordinated little kid I know".

Wagon rides! What a wonderful sight to see both seats filled :)

 Scary huh?

Another park that we love!  There is a spot with little kids toys that has soft ground and E loves it!

 My monkey :)

I love this picture :)

Whoo hoo Aiden!  Good coaching Papa! :)

Everything about being outside was great with these boys.  They both love to be outdoors, just like their mommy :)  The summer wasn't super hot and humid so we spent A LOT of our time outside. It was a wonderful summer.  The only bad part is that it is now over and I am back at work.  Sad. But so grateful I got to make all of these memories with by babes.

How did that happen?

Summer is over?! I don't know if it's because I have kids now or if it really is shorter, but summer keeps going faster and faster.

These are a few snapshots of our last summer day.

Silly smiles at the park :)

Nap time snuggles.. one of the biggest things I will miss from this summer.

 And our morning walks...

Yep. This happened.
