Nothin' but November

I swear I was going to try to organize these photos in some sort of logical sense.. but it just was too much work.  So Ill do my best to explain them logically for you :)

November at its finest with the Lams..

We got the first real snowfall of the year and it was quite a bit!  E got to experience the white stuff for the first time and wasn't too sure about it.  It think he would have loved it had he not had to wear a thousand layers of big clothing.  It prevented him from moving around much... or really, at all.  He just fell over a lot.  Poor thing.  He did enjoy watching Aiden and daddy shovel though! Aiden, of course, was in his element. :)

This is how we shop with Aiden...

Poor little baby got really sick :(  Super high temp for several days.. upwards of 104, 105.  This is what made us truly consider ear tubes.
I took this picture and sent it to grammy and said, "First time I've gone in to check on him in several days and he hasn't been sweating and felt like fire when I touched his head".  What a wonderful moment that was!

Play time in mommy and daddys bed :)

Lilly staying warm! hehe.

His first go of it with the Ipad.  He was hooked after the first 10 seconds..

I love this picture.

What Aiden said he was thankful for (on that moment, on that day, in that mood).  Hes so a goof:)

This melted my heart!

Aiden went to work with daddy for a bit one morning.  He took it seriously of course.

Preparing for Christmas :)

This was his first real shopping trip at a big store where we let him wander around "on his own".  He just walked around and pointed at things and said "That. That. That."  Hahhaha.

Our fashion friendly little man.

I love this serious of pictures.

Festival of Trees in Davenport.  What a fun parade and day with the fam!

Thanksgiving is all about giving thanks, and that's just what we did. Gave thanks for our wonderful and loving family!!!

Halloween: Is it okay in my book?

I really dislike Halloween.  It's creepy, strange, not meaningful, and a wasted day at school.  Ya, ya.. baa humbug.

BUT.  My Aiden loved Halloween this year.  Therefore....... I enjoyed it :)

He picked out his own costume.  And Emmitt's :)

Look at my superheros!!  So awesome.  Okay.  Halloween isn't so bad..

Aiden actually enjoyed trick or treating this year!  He was super excited to ring the doorbell.  He had a smile plastered on his face the whole time.  He would say "Trick-or-Treat" and after they put candy in his bucket he would say, "Trick-or.... I mean Thank You!" So stinking cute.

It was really cold, so E and daddy went back home after a couple houses.  Aiden and Mommy got to dominate the neighborhood though!!  We had so much fun together.  He was a chatterbox.  At one point we saw a kid dressed up pretty scary and Aiden looks at me with a big smile on his face, grabs my hand,  and yells "Monster!  Run mom!" And we did.  And we laughed the whole time until we had to stop because I was about to pee my pants.

After I couldn't feel my fingers anymore I forced him to go back home.  The only way I could get him back there was to say he could help me pass out candy.  Well.  Of course, he was all about this.  It's taking on the role of an adult.  Aiden's hobby.

He sat by the door and just stared outside.  He even started flashing the lights when people came down our street to get them to come to our house. HA!

A couple kids, probably elementary age, came to our door and he opened it and said, "Okay boys, what do you say?" After they said "Trick-or-treat" (and rolled their eyes) Aiden goes, "Wow, you have some really great costumes there, you look great!"

He had his preschool Halloween parade.  Jeff, Grammy, Emmitt, and Mommy all got to go!  It was hilariously awesome.

Aiden and his "best friend" Ava chasing each other.  He talks about her all. the. time.

 Of course he would lead.

But he had to stop to give Daddy a big hug :)
(Check out Emmitt just sitting by the sidewalk.  Haha)

 This kid.

Check out Emmitt again.  Making himself at home.  Hahah.

Ok, so maybe Halloween wasn't so bad this year.

F.O.U.R.

This little man is FOUR!!  In honor of his fourth birthday I wrote this acrostic poem that represents Aiden (because I'm just that cool).  Jeff's words are second..

Fun-loving/Frank
Outspoken/Original
Unique/Unbelievable
Rowdy/Rambunctious

Some other words that come to my mind immediately when I think of how to describe Aiden at four years old:

Smart
Hilarious
Bull-headed
Strong-willed
Independent
Loving
Risk-taker
Learner
Leader
Snuggler

He has a VERY strong personality.  Always has.  He hit 10 months and we knew he would be a force to reckon with.. and we were spot on.  But there is nothing we would change about him.  His personality and that brain of his will take him far in life.  He will be the leader of a giant company, and quite possibly rule the world one day. ;)  BUT.  He is still sensitive. He loves to snuggle.  He is kind hearted and loving.  This kid.  He's got it all.  You can't help but feel the energy coming off of him when you are around him.  It's contagious.  Just another thing we love about him.

He is smart.  Like, really smart.  His memory, his imagination.. its incredible.  When he was younger I always felt insecure with saying that out loud.  I didn't talk about the fact that he was singing full songs and having actual conversations with us at a year old.  I wouldn't talk about when he started saying his ABC's and counting to 10 because I didnt want to brag.  I felt like I was being THAT mom if I did.  But I'm totally over that.  There is nothing wrong with saying your kid is smart.  Nothing.

He loves everything about telling stories, superheros, cartoons, dress-up, outside, climbing, jumping, running, going fast on anything, reading books, and being with people.

Here a few pics from his day..

Just look at him.  How can you not smile? :)

How about that table?!  Great job again Grammy :)

 This picture.  Priceless.

He got a bike from mommy and daddy!  It took him literally 5 seconds to start going on it.  And fast.

Sweet little Hannah playing in the leaves :)

 Love.

 :)

Getting the bike ready to go with the new chalk writer!

 Hehehehe!

 Smiles

He has opened my eyes to a world I never really knew existed.  This world includes, but isn't limited to, farming equipment, superheros, lawn mowers, leaf blowers, weed whackers, and emergency equipment.

I recently downloaded a new app called Timehop.  It's amazing.  It sends me pics I posted on Facebook on that day in previous years.  Here is a short journey down memory lane with Aiden..

Look at that sweet little baby.
We were so clueless..

 One year.

 2 years.

3 years.

4 years!
